About

I'm Luca Silverentand, a Dutch programmer-entrepreneur based in Amsterdam. I build mobile apps, open source tools, and products that people love to use.

I started shipping iOS apps as a teenager — my weather app Mizzle went live when I was sixteen. Since then I've built and launched multiple products, contributed to open source, and co-founded a language learning startup.

I believe the best software combines technical excellence with delightful user experiences. Every product I build starts with a problem I've experienced personally.

Beyond Code

When I'm not writing code, I'm usually behind a camera shooting street photography around Amsterdam, experimenting with music production, or exploring new cities. I believe the best developers are curious about the world beyond their screen.

I'm passionate about design, typography, and the intersection of art and technology. These interests deeply influence how I approach product development - always striving for that perfect balance between functionality and beauty.

Currently

  • Building Ellie and preparing for public launch in Q2 2025
  • Maintaining SwiftSky and adding new weather provider integrations
  • Writing about mobile development, product building, and startup lessons
  • Available for select consulting projects and collaborations

Let's Connect

I'm always interested in connecting with fellow builders, discussing product ideas, or helping with mobile development challenges.
